Porcelain tile handles wet rooms well. Vinyl plank depends on tight installation because water can reach the subfloor through gaps.
Care
Both floors need sweeping and damp cleaning. Tile adds grout joints, which need their own care. Narrow grout lines and the right grout color can reduce upkeep.
Installation
A tile setter cuts and beds porcelain with tile tools. Many vinyl systems click or adhere in place and suit experienced do-it-yourself installers.
